About

Stealth Economics is the creation of Jonathan Ernest, a Ph.D Candidate in Economics at Clemson University. His concentration is in the field of Public Economics, with interest in the Economics of Regulation and Industrial Organization.

Stealth Economics was created to provide a venue for applying deeper economic analysis to everyday news stories. Through teaching introductory economics courses to undergraduate students, Jonathan discovered that students are able to grasp concepts much more fully when those concepts are applied to real-life events in an easy to understand manner. The blog format, with comment section, provides a unique opportunity to apply standard assumptions while analyzing a situation, but also to have ideas and conclusions questioned through more rigorous analysis at a higher level.
